Music nowadays almost always comes to us as a product, something prepared and complete. The documentary shares the musical process of eleven musicians from across the world that come together at a residency at the Festival Artes Serrinha to improvise and surprise each other. Without any plans, without previously created, arranged or mixed songs, the film pieces together through the musicians' experiences of being in the now while taking inspiration from the nature that surrounds them. In a world of ready made and pre-packaged things, Musica Pelos Poros is a refreshing glimpse into music being created with freedom, which flows through the body and spirit.

Marcelo Machado started his career with experimental video at the Olhar Eletrônico production company in the 1980's. His work extended from television to advertising in the 1990's, ultimately concentrating on directing for film and television. He has recently directed the TV series A Verdade de Cada Um and the award-winning music-documentary Tropicália. In 2017, he premiered The Piano in The Room that won the audience award in Festival In-Edit (Brazil) and the best documentary in FENAVID (Bolivia).
