Sustainability and innovation are essential elements in the music industry today. But can this innovative approach be applied to all practices of the music business in respect to environmental and economic impact? Pollution and sustainability are key issues of our time.

The music industry, however, is very energy-intensive in all relevant sectors (production, distribution, performance). This session lays some concerns of a sustainable music industry: to reduce CO2 emissions, produce less waste, create an environmental and social awareness in the music industry, inspire music bands and fans towards sustainability. How to demand a sustainable music industry? How to achieve economic sustainability for independent music bands and artist? These questions and more will be discussed.
