Los Angeles natives Kellen and Marshall McDaniel grew up in a family immersed in the worlds of music and theatre, and that upbringing led to natural artistic alliance between the brothers. Marshall McDaniel plays cello and writes music for film, television and video games. Kellen McDaniel composes and plays viola for Babylon Quartet. Over the years the McDaniel brothers have worked together on chamber music, film scores, and a fully-staged musical.

‘Ghosts’ is the newest collaboration between the McDaniel Brothers and Babylon Quartet. It’s written for strings and electronics, and it draws from a surprising list of influences like progressive rock, jazz fusion, pulsing electronic music, and J.S. Bach. ‘Ghosts’ also nods toward celebrated video game soundtracks like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid. The result is a work fit for ear buds or stereos, the computer screen, television or concert hall.
