Session 8
Chaired by Winsome Chow (Hong Kong, China), chief executive, Hong Kong Arts Development Council;
with Kenny Chen (Hong Kong, China), executive director, Wu Promotion Hong Kong Co., Limited
The historical background and geographical advantage of Hong Kong enable it to serve as an excellent gateway to Mainland China and connection to other Asian countries. Hong Kong is as an ideal springboard for international arts practitioners to tap into the rapidly emerging markets in China, especially the Greater Bay Area in the south, and all the other regions of Asia. With the opening of a number of new cultural venues in Hong Kong and with more still to come, the city is exploring new possibilities of arts and welcomes new vision and creativity.
In this session, Ms. Chow, together with other veteran arts administrators in the region, will tell us what the opportunities and challenges are in the region, what the audience is like in China, what kind of music programmes are sought after and much more.
