20 YEARS OF WOMEX - Adjágas at WOMEX 2006

Adjágas mix indie rock with joik – the traditional singing style of the Sámi people of northern Scandinavia that is based on mimesis, imitating natural sounds, usually for a spiritual purpose.

They played at WOMEX 06 in Sevilla, a year before their first international release. The band have since gone on to collaborate with director Jim Jarmusch, Tuvan band Chirgilchin and perform tours of the Native American nations.

For today's 20 Years Time Machine, we have a listen to Mun ja Mun, the single from their eponymous début album. Just click on the link and enjoy!
