The ninth edition of Classical:NEXT returns once again to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, but with new dates and new hours that span new days of the week. Classical:NEXT will take place from Monday to Thursday, 18 - 21 May 2020.
With the change of dates for 2020, Classical:NEXT will now take place on different days of the week, spanning Monday to Thursday. The new days provide the opportunity to implement further changes, particularly to the opening and closing events:
The official Opening and Welcome will now coincide with the opening of the Expo at 12:00 on Monday, 18 May 2020, followed by the Opening Night beginning at 20:00; the Expo will now be condensed to three compact days (with longer hours on the opening day) as the final day will take place entirely offsite; the Innovation Award is set to take place on Wednesday evening, 20 May 2020; and the Tailored Networking Event, together with a special keynote, will be held at a unique location in Rotterdam to bring Classical:NEXT to its official close at 14:00 on Thursday, 21 May 2020.

Please note, registration and badge pick-up will also be open from 09:00 - 18:00 on Monday, 18 May 2020. From 09:00 - 12:00 on the Monday, the Expo is only open to exhibitors. At 12:00, the Expo will open to all delegates and are therefore encouraged to pick up their badges in good time, to not miss the official Opening and Welcome, which also takes place at noon. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Expo will be open from 10:00-18:00.

For Classical:NEXT 2020, two events require pre-registration, which can be done when completing the regular registration process:
Following its debut in 2019, the Higher Music Education Pre-Conference will take place once again to explore intersections and opportunities within the classical music ecosphere via panels and facilitated discussions with all attendees.
To participate, delegates must pay an additional fee of 15 EUR.
The Tailored Networking Event on Thursday, 21 May 2020, also requires pre-registration, but for no extra charge. Together with a keynote, the event offers delegates a final opportunity to mix and mingle in a unique location in the city of Rotterdam.
More details will be revealed as further programme details are announced.
Both events are open to all Classical:NEXT delegates. Space is limited and delegates are encouraged to pre-register to ensure their place and to avoid disappointment. Delegates can only attend either event if registered for Classical:NEXT itself.
What Else Is New?
Of particular focus for Classical:NEXT 2020 is music technology, providing a platform for various services and projects across two different formats. The Tech Isle is a new addition within the Expo, allowing companies to display their products for delegates to try and test, accompanied with short presentations.
Classical:NEXT 2020 has added an additional Project Pitch session that will focus only on technology. This forms part of the official Conference Programme and will be specially curated.
