The group of companies Piranha / WOMEX is one of the leading players in the field of cultural exchange in and out of Berlin. Piranha Events was founded in 2003 as an autonomous firm continuing the work of Piranha Kultur and playing a major role in the Berlin concert- & festival scene for more than 20 years.

Our productions are equally concentrating on tradition and innovation and our profession lies just as much in organising/promoting events (festivals, concerts etc.) as in supplying services such as programming and producing events for all kinds of institutions, organisations and companies. Some of the Piranha festival classics are the self-produced summer festival "Heimatklänge" - a local favourite since 1988 and part of the FIFA cultural programme for the World Cup 2006 in Germany; "Carnaval BerlimBrasil", the yearly opener of the well-known Berlin Carnival of Cultures as well as its closing event "The Long Night of the Soundsystems". Beyond the Berlin borders, the Piranha Events service portfolio ranges from programme-consultation to Event organisation and realisation for e.g. the World Youth Day 2005 "Bridging the World"-Festival in Cologne, the "Balkanfest"-tour as part the culture days Serbia and Montenegro in Germany 2005 and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
