offWOMEX: Networking Meetings and Presentations
This networking session is an open call to music educators, musicians and administrators to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the future of music education in a globalised world. Under discussion will be the role of music schools in preserving and promoting diversity of cultural expression, innovative new teaching methods and curricula, the mutual recognition of music study programmes and student/teacher exchange. Are we really preparing musicians for the diverse challenges they face in the 21st century? What skills do musicians need to communicate with each other across borders? How can we document the world's musical resources for future generations and, at the same time, stimulate innovation and communication between musicians from different parts of the world?
