For the second time, WOMEX will be offering Matchmaking for music publishers following its success at WOMEX 10.

The Matchmaking will be orientated towards all music publishers attending WOMEX who want to offer their services as a sub-publisher and/or are looking for subpublishers in other areas of the world.

This curated service for publishers at WOMEX is free of charge. The Matchmaking is open to pre-registered participants only. Registration deadline was 30 September.

Due to its high proportion of international delegates, WOMEX is the ideal platform for this Matchmaking. Last year, 30 publishers from Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, UK, France, Guyana, India, Italy, Canada, Colombia, New Caledonia, Norway, Switzerland, South Africa, Hungary and USA took part in the very productive debut event.

A Conference Session, open to all delegates, will provide an introduction to the Matchmaking. Martin Schaefer (Germany), Boehmert & Boehmert; along with Frank Dostal (Germany), GEMA; and Jacob Hüttel (Denmark), Koda; will be talking about collecting societies in Europe, their differences and common features in what they have to offer to their clients.

The Publisher Matchmaking is supported by DMV, the German Music Publishers' Association; VUT, the Association of Independent Music Companies from Germany, and MPA, UK's Music Publishers Association.

"The Music Publishers Association is very pleased to support WOMEX, who will once again be offering a matchmaking service to publishers attending the 2011 event. As the UK is a net exporter of music it is extremely important for UK publishers to develop strong representation in all major territories. WOMEX is an excellent opportunity for publishers to do business, to meet old contacts and to form new relationships. The matchmaking sessions on offer will help publishers to derive maximum benefit from their time at WOMEX." Stephen Navin (UK), Chief Executive of Music Publishers Association
