WOMEX '10 JURY * Announcing the 7 Samurai

(Photo: WOMEX 09 Jury meeting) Every year WOMEX invites a Jury made up of a new generation of world music passionates. The Jury members - also known as the 7 Samurai - work on the Showcase and Conference selection. In 2010 for the first time the WOMEX Jury is split up into two fields of responsibility: Two Samurai are primarily in charge of the Conference programming - the other five are asked to shape the Showcase Festival.
