WOMEX 11 COPENHAGEN * New Umbrella Stands Added to the Trade Fair

Fresh sights and sounds will be spicing up this year's Trade Fair, as WOMEX hosts new delegations from both Cape Verde and the Caribbean.

Carlos L. A. Wharton, Senior Trade Policy Advisor, Caribbean Export Development Agency (stands A.01-12, B.01-08) says: "By participating in WOMEX we aim to expose professionals and artists from the Caribbean Music industry to European and international markets. WOMEX offers us the opportunity to showcase the diversity of Caribbean music, and to promote greater cooperation between music industry representatives from Martinique and CARIFORUM States."

For the first time, WOMEX welcomes a Cape Verdean umbrella stand (O.20) to the Trade Fair, supported by the Cape Verdean Ministry of Culture, which gathers together labels, festivals and artists, and celebrates the musical richness of Cesaria Evora's country.
