A mosaic full of signs and intelligent
stimulus, a journey in the time and in
the space, an ideal sound track of
the soul: this is "Sacrarmonia", the
new project designed and realized by
Antonella Ruggiero, one of the most
versatile and interesting voice in the
Italian scenery.
The name of Antonella comes from
the last twenty five years of the Italian
music: with her song; she has told
and followed the evolution and the
trajectory of the public's customs and
tastes. At first with Matia Bazar and
then, in the 90's, with a soloist
career, as much different as
successful, she always followed the
desire to space out beyond the limits
of the formulas and of the tradition
languages.
Her performer's ability has been able
to reach points and backgrounds
very far from each other. With
"Sacrarmonia", in collaboration with
Arké, very expressive strings quartet,
Antonella wants to go in search of
territories and materials rich of
history and evocative fascination.
In "Sacrarmonia" Ruggiero with Arké
and one percussionist create a
journey across the culture and
idioms coming from far worlds
where we can found influences from
pages of classic music, Bach,
Schubert, John Dowland, and from
religious inspiration's repertoire,
Adeste Fideles and Gounod's Ave
Maria, Moreover "Sacrarmonia"
passes from emotional citation as
Missa Luba and Missa Criolla to
Tumi Shiva, a Indian devotional
Song, and Lo frate sole, from
"Cantico delle Creature".
She worked with Ennio Morricone
who contacted her for a television
production's sound track. With
excellent performances, she
preceded the concert of Sting during
the tournée in 1996. She
partecipated in Festival of Sanremo
and she arrived second with many
enthusiastic compliments of critic
and public.
