Cabelo Branco é Saudade brings together on the same stage three of the most lyrical upholders of the Fado tradition - Celeste Rodrigues, sister of the unforgettable Amalia, Argentina Santos, Alcindo de Carvallo and one of the youngest and most powerful heirs of old Lisbon traditions Ricardo Ribeiro. Letting them sing of longing, loss and, as always, love. But it is much more than that; it is Fado “as it used to be sung”, before it was contaminated by showbiz. In Cabelo Branco é Saudade, murmured the "Buena vista social club" of Fado, we are reminded that Fado is also a style where authenticity is always the outcome of a staged fight between pretence and sincerity. Is this too little? Is this too much? Let us just call it absurdly moving.
