New to Real World Records comes this
soulful, deeply rooted singer from Brazil.
Blending her African-Brazilian heritage with
classic songs and ultra-contemporary
electronica approach this is a powerful
statement of modern music at it's most
traditional. "It's really an homage to the
Brazilian woman and her strength," says
Daúde, "to the legacy of the mixed races, the
happiness, humour and knowing tolerance
of the Brazilian people and finally to Africa."
The stories Daúde tells on the album are
richly varied, and are told in the language of
the music as well as the words of the lyrics.
The result is a sensuous, danceable and
sexy celebration of the modern Brazilian
soul filtered through some expertly
constructed loops and beats, courtesy of UK
producer Will Mowat, famous for his work
with Soul II Soul.
Daúde sings primarily in Portuguese, but the
album also features a French language
song with lyrics written specially for Daúde
by the legendary French composer Pierre
Barouh, based on the famous theme for
Claude Lelouch's film 'Un homme et une
femme'.

A different vision of Brazilian music from the
'black pearl' of Brazil.
