Real World announces new investment in music activities

30th October 2008

Real World announces new investment in music activities. Focuses on the collective strength of joint businesses in Recorded Music, Publishing, Multimedia, Studio and WOMAD.

Over the past 25 years, way before "360 degree" became a buzzword in the music industry; Real World has been putting together all the building blocks needed to be a world leading music company in the 21st century.

Real World Studios offers some of the finest acoustic technology solutions available with inspiring environments for recording and mixing music as well as for film post-production and creative design services. From Amy Winehouse to the new Bond movie "Quantum of Solace" the studios have been busy in every area.

Real World Multimedia is the interface between Real World and the digital world. We design, develop and maintain websites, interactive systems and digital content for Peter Gabriel, Real World Records, Real World Publishing, Real World Studios and WOMAD Shop. In September we launched our digital download shop using the highest quality Apple lossless open MP3 format.

Real World Records continues to push back the boundaries with new artists to discover and new styles of recording. Dub Colossus in "A Town Called Addis" is the first album under our new Joint Venture with Ingenious Media and was launched to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic with 5 stars from The Independent and FT. A new wave of signings has continued.

Real World Publishing controls over 4,000 copyrights. With both recording and publishing copyrights, Real World is able to provide a worldwide "one stop" solution for companies wanting to license repertoire for 3rd party usage making it a preferred choice for Film, TV advertising and mobile phone companies who appreciate the ease of use and efficiencies of dealing with a one stop provider.

WOMAD continues to further its reputation as the quintessential world music festival with rave reviews from this year's Charlton Park introducing new talent from many countries to new audiences and continues to look to expand its international festival calendar with two new territories under discussion for 2009.

The WOMAD Foundation brings the arts of different cultures before the widest possible audience with festival workshops, Summer Schools and educational outreach programmes for schools and universities.

Real World today announces a recorded music and publishing agreement and Joint Venture partnership with Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara whereby Real World will use all it's resources across the group to bring their new album and extraordinary talents to the widest possible audience.
