Rhythms Of The World Festival

We are an annual, community and world music festival that takes place in The Priory in the picturesque market town of Hitchin in Hertfordshire.

Now in it's 20th year this event attracts crowds of around 15,000 people each day with 140 acts on 7 stages over the 2 days. Dates for 2012 are July 14/15.

We are a registered charity and are funded by a mix of sponsorship, nominal ticketing,sponsorship in kind, street collections, stall lets and merchandise sales.

The entire event is run by volunteers, with a very skilled team of about 40 people working throughout the year plus around 500 volunteers on the day.

Our mission statement is to bring the entire community together through music and the arts, from Drum and Bass to Qawali, from Morris dancing to Capoiera, we celebrate and educate in an atmosphere of joy and compassion.

We are fully supported by the local community, the local council, the local MP. and the local leaders of all the main faiths and religions as I means of integrating and creating community.
