The guys from far-out Orkeztan throw elements from all over the world into their artistic melting pot. Out of that bubble grooves of beats and bass, swell catchy hooks of the wind section and billow chants in eight languages!
Does anyone ask for a term of style? A lot is possible between rough backyard beats and jazzy limberness!
Paul Linke a.k.a. Interpaul once had the idea of the musical world mix that shall tear down the cultural borders and unite the dancing crowd, wherever the people may come from - the "Mir" in the name means "world" as well as "peace" in russian language.
Since then a band has arised which inherently incarnates the cooperation of the nations: The eight musicians come from Western Europe, from (Ex-)Sovjet areas, from the Middle East, from Latin-America.
They all met in Berlin. In the meanwhile they have been celebrated on stages from the Black Forest to the Ural Mountains. After the two older EPs Mugamanta (2013) and Bazary Live (2014) the recently published their first album Global Grooves (2018).
