Orquesta Ceiba was created in 2004 at the instigation of a famous Cuban musician, Reynaldo "El Loco De La Salsa" Oviedo, who played with such great artists as Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Paquito d’Rivera, Juan "El Indio" Diaz... Directed by Luc Bartoli, the band is leaded by sonero Jacques Laye Solano (Costa Rica). 2009, released of the first album of Orquesta Ceiba, "Cinco Colones", recorded in a no-frills, strictly traditional way of salsa dura.

The eight members are coming from Catalunya, Colombia and Venezuela. With their 1st cd, "La ruta de la salsa", released at the beginning of 2010, they have been discovered on festivals like Toros y Salsa (Dax / France) or Pirineos Sur Festival (Spain). Their 2d cd will be released at the beginning of 2011.
