For over 35 years, Dafydd has been a major figure in both the entertainment and the political fields in Wales. He first came to prominence as a protest singer and leader of the Welsh language campaigns in the 60's. Since then he has composed some 200 songs and released 18 albums. Many of his songs are about Wales and the Welsh language and are full of fire and passion towards all aspects of the Welsh way of life. They also strongly emphasise the struggle to keep alive the great diversity of human culture. His singing is characterised by his own original wit, humour and compassion.
He continues to sing at home and abroad, exciting and moving audiences with his unique, powerful and moving performances.
Back in 1969 he was one of the founders of the SAIN record company, which continues to reflect all aspects of Welsh music and culture throughout the world.
