Gwenan Gibbard

"...excellent new arrangements with subtle and interesting variations. A cut above the rest." Shreds and Patches

"...an intriguing range of material...melodic intricacy and rhythmic drive with an emotional depth unusual in dance music." Songlines

"This is just about the most sublime exposition of traditional music, voice with harp, or any other instrument, from any of the Celtic countries I've ever heard. Gwenan Gibbard makes old music truly new again....with harp and voice so skilled that she brings in the entire universe in her particular grain of sand." Celtic Beat Magazine

Gwenan Gibbard is one of Welsh music's most exciting young artists. Her harp playing and singing bring together the characteristic vigour and natural beauty of Welsh traditional music at it's best, and, whilst being firmly rooted in the tradition, displays a fresh and innovative approach. Refreshingly energetic arrangements of dance tunes and haunting renditions of Welsh folk songs combine to create a performance which is truly Welsh in style. Her most recent appearances at the Lorient Festival, the World Harp Congress, The North American Festival of Wales and Celtic Colours Festival Nova Scotia, together with numerous performances at home in Wales, have confirmed her as one of the emerging new talents on the Welsh traditional music scene.
