Parafusa was born in 2002 in Recife, Northeast of Brazil. The musicians Diogo Andrade (guitar), Tiago Araújo (bass), Juliano Ribeiro (keyboard) and Lucas Araújo (drums) faces the independent music marketing with creativity. The band produces music based in the influences of Brazilian popular music (MPB), regional and roots music like Frevo, and progressive rock.

The first album was released in 2005. Named as "Meio-dia na Rua da Harmonia", the record achieves a good repercussion and respect from the Brazilian media and was responsible for partnership with the label Alvo Discos and also with the booking agency Salazarte.

Parafusa have been playing in several national festivals such as: Festival No Ar: Coquetel Molotov - when the band also played with the Scottish band Teenage Fanclub; Goiânia Noise 2005, DoSol 2006; Abril Pro Rock 2006, Feira da Música de Fortaleza 2006, and Rec Beat 2006.
