Conversa Ribeira joins contemporary conceptions of the instrumental and vocal interpretations to the caipira simplicity (very rich and profound), developed from the contact with other musical universes in which the musicians of the group also move (jazz,classical music,modern popular Brazilian song.
As the result of an intense and constant research that has been developed since 2002, the repertoire includes from folk melodies and modas (typical Brazilian rhythm) recorded by traditional duets to contemporary artist compositions that bring links with musica caipira and caipira culture. Very well-known composers and interpreters such as Joao Pacifico, Raul Torres, Alvarenga, Ranchinho, Tiao Carreiro, Rolando Boldrin, Villa Lobos, Milton Nascimento, Almir Sater, among others, have their compositions and interpretations revisited in arrangements full of sensibility and subtlety.
In 2007, the group is releasing its first cd, Conversa Ribeira, a partially financed project promoted by FICC (Cultural Act promoted by the government of Campinas, via Cooperativa de Musica. The most recent achievement of the group is having been selected among 16 artists that will participate in Projeto Pixinguinha 2007 (FUNARTE)
