The Carapia Trio uses the richest elements of regional Brazilian Music to create modern arrangements. Adding harmonic and melodic
sophistication to the instrument and its repertoire, the Trio seeks to produce excellent new compositions. Moreover, the Trio explores all
the potential of the Viola Caipira, which is so popular in the whole country.
In the Trio Carapia's repertoire one can find arrangements of classics from the country universe, perennial favorites of the Brazilian
audience, such as "De Papo Pro Ar" (composed by Joubert de Carvalho and Olegario Mariano), and "Vaca Estrela e Boi Fuba" (written by Patativa do Assare), as well as compositions by the members of the Trio.
In 2007, Trio Carapia released the first cd Levante in Brazil and in concerts in Europe (Spain and Portugal, invited to play at the traditional Folk Festival Segovia (24th edition) and stood out in local press.
In 2008, the Trio Carapia plays in the traditional Festival Dr.Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (January), Sonora Mexico and Portugal in Ollin Kan Festival (July) and other european cities.
