Sonicbids Joins Forces with SXSW

BOSTON, MA - AUGUST 30th, 2007 - Sonicbids, the leading online submission platform for indie bands and musicians, is proud to announce a new partnership with the famed SXSW Music Conference & Festival that will give over 1,400 independent artists from around the world the chance to perform live in front of top music industry professionals, talent scouts, and promoters next spring. Most genres of music will be accepted for this opportunity. The submission period is open now and runs through November 9th. Interested parties can view the opportunity and submit their Electronic Press Kit (EPK) at www.sonicbids.com/SXSW. The SXSW Music Conference and Festival 2008 will again take place in Austin, TX from March 12th-16th.

The SXSW Music Conference and Festival has become one of the largest and most influential musical events in North America and throughout the world. The 2007 event drew 11,750 music industry professionals for compelling panels, industry discussions, demo listening sessions, trade show exhibits, and - as always - five nights of top quality music by more than 1,500 American and international bands hailing from 33 different countries, performing in over 60 venues in downtown Austin, Texas. Established artists, agents, promoters, and talent buyers mix with media, managers, legal experts, and other professionals each spring, contributing to the fun and unique business atmosphere that SXSW brings to Austin.

In addition to the showcase itself, information about every act performing at SXSW 2008 will be accessible by fans and professionals via the SXSW website. Prior to, during, and after the Festival attendees and fans will be able to listen to a showcasing artist's music, read their bios, and click on links to other artist websites, including their Sonicbids page. Moreover, opportunities for media attention have never been better, with next year's event expected to again be covered by hundreds of national and international outlets including television and radio, print and online music publications, podcasts, and hundreds of blogs, reporting on every facet of the festival.

For additional information on this partnership, or to find out more about how Sonicbids can help your company or your band expand internationally, stop by the Sonicbids booth at WOMEX (Hall 1, Booth B.27) and chat with Jim Schultz or Benjamin Ricci.
