Optimistic and graceful, she is an intelligent and humble woman. Does not pay attention to fame, she is a young old soul with a passion for living. The sister of Amalia Rodrigues also dedicated almost her life to fado.
Celeste Rodrigues sings since she is known. She proved early that her professionalism was not due to being Amalia's sister but to the felt way that she interpreted the lyrics composed for her, or the most traditional fados. Some of the fados that she interpreted, rewarded successes of sales with gold or platinum records are, at the end of several decades, classics of this way of singing.
The success made her perform almost everywhere. The fact she was the first fadista (female fado singer) to sing in the Portuguese television, right after the outburst of the emissions, or to have sung with Eddie Sulivan, or, in the English television with Richard Dembleby are special prominences.
