Kartik Seshadri, who recently toured with Philip Glass is interviewed in the excellent new KPBS American Masters documentary about Glass.“A Portrait of Philip in 12 Parts” is director Scott Hicks’ new documentary about composer Philip Glass. Seshadri is prominently featured in both a performance and interview. Hicks (who also directed “Shine” and “Snow Falling on Cedars”) shot much of the video himself,
following Glass for 18 months. The imagery is superb, and the
interviews eclectic: besides Kartik Seshadri, interviewees include Woody Allen, Ravi Shankar, Chuck Close and Martin Scorsese.
