Tarek Kandil

Tarek Kandil is releasing his first compilation of Acid Jazz/Electronica. Blame it on Rio (his first compilation), was composed at Kandil's home studios in Amman and New York. Kandil has utilized a minimal amount of samples collected from previous performances by local artists, and has built around them to create a funky downtempo flavor. Kandil began his love for creating music upon purchasing a keyboard with a sequencer when he was eleven. A dedicated listener of hip hop (Pete Rock, Digable Planets, etc...) he became interested in electronic music during his two years in Paris. Since then he has been influenced greatly by the sounds of Viennese artists such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Dzihan and Kamien, not to mention various French artists as well.
