Stichting Kasba

Kasba mixes North African music spices with western musical herbs into a great musical dansable dish. Kasba combines raï with rock, adds a little reggae to it and finishes the dish with a bit of Gnawa.

Kasba consists of musicians with different musical backgrounds, rooted in Morocco and The Netherlands. The combination of these musical spices and the energy created by the group during performances makes Kasba a very exciting and interesting group group to watch.
In 2002 Kasba was asked to play on the wedding of crownprince Willem Alexander and his wife Maxima. The concert was broadcasted in 64 countries and the Career of Kasba went up. Kasba played in TV shows and did radio performances. In 2003 Kasba scored a number 1 hitsingle in Morocco with their track Yama Bomba. In 2004 the album chouf chouf was elected in the top 25 of best undergound albums in The Netherlands. In 2005 Kasba toured Morocco for 5 weeks and the concerts were broadcasted on Moroccan television. In 2006 a documentary on Kasba was broadcasted by Dutch national television. In 2007 Kasba presented their album Zigzag in Paradiso Amsterdam with Khaled. The track Bambara was nr 1 at FunX radio 1 month later. In 2008 Kasba played the Mawazine festival in Rabat. In 2009 Kasba released their Acoustic album Darna and toured in Mexico in April and played the famous Sfinks festival in Belgium. The new Kasba studio album will be released in the winter of 2009-2010.
