From Tombouctou, the Tuareg musical group "Awza" was born in the dunes of the Sahara, posessed by the rythms of hands clapping, of the tende (tom-tom) and of traditional Tuareg dances
and songs.
From the dunes of Tombouctou, "Awza" has conveyed this rich desert heritage to stages and festivals in modern cities to become among the most reknown performers of Tuareg music.
Composed of eight (9) artists, this Saharan musical troop draws its repertoire from the traditional music and dance of Kel Tamasheq (Tuareg).
Their warlike songs extoll the virtues of bravery, honor and dignity, just as their love poems describe legendary beauty and passion.

Talented ambassadors of the Tuareg culture,
Awza's mission is to be the voice of its people
beyond their natural borders.

Each performance is an opportunity to carry
this voice higher and further and to prevent the
disappearance of this culture.

Within the framework of your next festival or event,"Awza" would be honoured to represent the Tuareg heritage.
