SUTARI was created by three young women - singers, instrumentalists and performers – each from different musical and theatrical backgrounds – continuing the tradition of singing Polish folk music, with no attempt to change it, but to uncover what’s hidden inside it.
The band performs in the tradition of Polish folk music, using not only traditional instruments, but also everyday utensils such as a grater, a kitchen mixer or keys.

In September 2014 SUTARI has released it's first album "Wiano" (although the band has been playing together since 2012). "Wiano" has been selected as one of Poland's 30 best albums of 2014 by the music portal beehype.
SUTARI has also played at many festivals around the world, like Tallin Music Week, Rudolstadt Fest, Folk Alliance International, FolkBaltica.
The band recorded also a live performance session for the legendary American radio KEXP.

“Unless you’re an ethnomusicologist with a penchant for the avant-garde I’m quite confident you’ll not have heard anything like Sutari before. (…) I think they’re fascinating and fantastic, their harmonies are mesmerising and their arrangements original, but still grounded in folk traditions."- Rylan Holey, London Philharmonic Choir.
