Modern music with a pan-African basis! Does this
mean anything at all? Well, Michael is known in
Europe in the Jazz & Improvisation Music scene as
an innovative drummer and composer,
incorporating African concepts into his music, and
here there are inspriational sources from
Cameroon, Zambia, Malawi, Senegal, Botswana.
Mixing electronics with audio and some words, this
is highly personal music — nine different rhythmic
pieces, nine different moods. Is it lounge, trance,
jazz, voodoo, hypno, pop, who cares what you call
it! With wonderful contributions by the guest
musicians Kofi Ayivor (GHA), Ousmane Seye (SEN),
Jeroen van Vliet (NL), Konkie Halmeyer (CUR),
Cherry Wijdenbosch (SUR), Jasper le Clercq (NL),
Nusch (NL), who all love to cross over existing
bounderies, and who all live in Holland. Surely it’s
preferable to be a worldburger rather than a
hamburger? The Ritmoloog continues…..
