The weird and wonderful sound of the bangwe board zither - almost extinct today, it was THE minstrel's instrument of Malawi. Plus extremely hip malipenga music, performed by a small big band of kazoos, magnificent likhuba tuned drum ensembles, brilliant xylophone playing, and the beautiful a capella singing by both men and women.
Historical recordings by Hugh Tracey from 1950, '51 & '58.
