Multi-Instrumentalist Garry O’Meara, from Dublin, is one of Ireland’s foremost and recognisable four string tenor banjo players as well as for his mandolin playing and singing. In his 20’s he was a member of crossover success story Reel, a band that had 3 top ten singles in Ireland and the UK. Since then Garry has toured extensively in Europe, North America and Asia with groups as diverse as Stockton’s Wing, Celtic Legends and The Brock McGuire Band & We Banjo 3.
Garry has performed with Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs and has an extensive discography appearing on albums with notable artists such as Tommy Fleming, Nathan Carter and Mike Denver.
Garry’s 2012 solo album Pickin’ Time is widely acclaimed as one of the top banjo albums of the decade receiving rave reviews all round. As well as performing with his own band Garry is also a regular performer with CeltGrass super group We Banjo 3.
The Garry O’Meara Band tours as a 4 piece band with – Guitar, Bass & Percussion accompanying Garry.
