Ríanta are a powerful four piece band from Ireland that are setting pulses racing with their innovative melodies and heart warming songs. Playing tunes that boast their intricate and flamboyant style of playing between accordion and fiddle, accompanied by the imaginative and pulsating rhythms from the Rooney brothers on guitar and percussion, Ríanta are creating a sound that is very unique.
The stellar lineup is led by charming Kerry man and All-Ireland winning accordion player Conor Moriarty. Virtuoso fiddle player Tara Breen on fiddle. Apart from unprecedented All-Ireland success on multiple instruments Tara is best known for her regular appearances with The Chieftains and Carlos Nunez. Driving the rhythm of the band are the talented Rooney brothers Stephen (Ciorras) & Eamon on guitar/vocals and percussion.
Their debut album as the Trí Tones was met with critical acclaim described as “one of the year’s highlights” by Tradconnect and subsequently voted album of the year 2014 by reader’s poll. Having added Eamon as a full time member The Trí Tones have renamed to Ríanta and are currently recording their follow up and much anticipated second album.
