Tangata Records

Tangata Records is an independent record company specialising in artist development, music management and promotion of Maori recording artists. Tangata Records has been releasing Maori recordings since 1991, numerous albums, compilations, and singles (in English and Maori) and produced over 40 Maori music videos for television.

The current active roster includes Ruia (Reggae/World), Moana (World), Iwi (Rap/Rnb) and more recent signings Piripi Christie (World) and WVVLC (Rap/Rnb). The company also has been involved with management for artists and projects, and is the publisher for a number of recordings and composers. Tangata is a member of APRA, RIANZ and AMCOS New Zealand Music industry associations.
