Young Flamencos
Encarnita Anillo, Cantaora, 23 years old
Vintage styles... her way

Born in Cadiz in 1983 Encarnita Anillo has flamenco
in here veins. At just eleven years old she began
with the Farruco Company, with whom she still
tours. At fourteen she made a name for herself
playing a part in two highly acclaimed shows at the
2000 Bienal de Flamenco in Seville; ‘Metamorfosis’
by Israel Galván and ‘Colores’ by Rafael de Carmen,
Rafaela Carrasco, Pepe de Pura.

QUOTE>Young and cheerful. Modest and contented.
An untiring workaholic. The name Encarnita Anillo
is starting to shine brightly in the crowded galaxy
of flamenco. (Carlos Sánchez, Flamenco World
2006.)

Since then she has dedicated herself to el cante of
flamenco. This hard work has paid off as now, at
twenty-three years old, she has already worked
with such greats like Belén Maya, Israel Galván,
Chano Lobato, Alejandro Granados, Andrés Marín
and Antonio Canales. These experiences have
brought her the maturity to embark on her solo
career gaining acclaim from performances at
prestigious festivals in Barcelona and Madrid.

She is currently working on her first album
(produced by Miguel Poveda) to be released early
2007. Contributing to this project are Diego del Morao,
Chicuelo, Alfredo Lagos, Juan Requena, Juan Ramón Caro, Luis
Cantarote, Carlos Grilo, Carmelilla Montoya, Farruquito, Farru,
Diego Amador and her brother José Anillo.
