Grainne Duffy is a guitar player, singer and songwriter from Ireland. Her voice and playing are inspired by the wellsprings of Memphis and Chicago, but Grainne also reflects to rich varieties of the Celtic experience.

Raised in Castleblayney, Monaghan Co. Grainne sang with her sisters in the choir before they broadcast their interests into the likes of Aretha Franklin, The Pretenders and Rolling Stones. Around that time Grainne discovered Fleetwood Mac and the blues playing of Peter Green, studied the blues power of the three Kings – BB, Albert and Freddie.

Her debut album “Out of the Dark” (2007) led Grainne to the stage of Glastonbury Festival (UK). Her 2nd album “Test of Time” (2011) is highly appreciated by both – fans and critics. Grainne starts to play at the festival circuit in UK. Her exceptional voice, guitar playing and famous emanation on the stage are very impressive for the audience and during 2013 Grainne’s reputation increases a lot across Europe. She begins to add strong international “taste” to her profile playing festivals in Belgium, Bulgaria, Holland and Norway. The year of 2014 saw Grainne to play many of the finest festivals in Europe – Notodden (Norway), Dark Season Blues at the Arctic Pole (Svalbard, Norway), Blue Balls (Switzerland), Aosta Soul & Blues (Italy), The Great British R&B in UK.
