The Cuban Cowboys mix indie rock with traditional Cuban music. Riding in on post-punk distortion, mambo riffs and quicksilver Latin percussion, The Cuban Cowboys turn the dark stories of a Cuban family's exile into serious rock Cubano. Singing of lessons learned from living life in between two cultures and languages, the band collides the perfect American icon with
emigre tension, exile, tenderness and lust. The Cuban Cowboys are where Brooklyn meets Matamoros.

The band steadily built a following across the United States after
releasing their debut album in 2007. "Cuban Candles," went to 15 on CMJ's World chart and publications such as Newsday said the album was "destined to become a classic intersection between roots rock and Cuban Son."

Their new album, "Diablo Mambo," was produced by Greg Landau (Maldita Vecindad, Susana Baca, Omar Sosa, Patato Valdes), and includes vocal performances by Alex Cuba. With a November 2010 release, the band hopes to keep winning fans while helping the world put a little diablo in its Mambo.
