António Ferro was born the 03 of February of 1960, in the city of Lisbon.
As professional musician folloied and recorded with some of the main national artists, as: Maria João, Luis Cília, Rui Veloso, Jose Mário Branco, Fausto, Mafalda Veiga, Duo Ouro Negro, Simone, Jose Cid, Maria Guinot, Só Nós Três (Paulo de Carvalho, Fernando Tordo e Carlos Mendes), Vitorino, Janita Salomé, Lara Li, Mucavele and Liz McComb.
He participated in the national and international festivals, where if they detach: Only Rock (Coimbra); Festival of the Peace (Troia); VII Festival of International Jazz of Macau; Lisbon in Jazz 91; XI Festa do Avante; I Festival of Portuguese Jazz; Meeting with the Jazz (Faro) and Frei Musik Improvisiert Festival (Berlin).
As composer it developed the following works for cinema and theater: Iratan e Iracema - film of Paulo D'Eça Leal, Café Portugal of Óscar Branco, Para Tão Longo Amor; Beijo No Asfalto, O Estranho Caso do Trapezista Azul for the Seiva Trupe.
Of COLISEU Arena in Oporto, he was wright music for the film carried through for Customs Films commemorative of the 60 years of the Coliseu of the Port.
As artistic director it exerted this function in the Coliseu of the OPorto in 1992 and between 1997 and 2001, having been responsible for the organization of the Cinquentenário of the Coliseu of the OPorto, in 1991.
He was founding and artistic director of the Guimarães Jazz, in Encontros com Música (Aveiro), Matosinhos em Jazz, Douro Blues, Funchal Jazz, Jazz In' Gaia, Santa Maria Blues and Seia Jazz & Blues, having already carried through thirty and two international festivals.
As producing it developed the following projectos: Route Jazz; A thousand and Nights; Night of the Fire; The Jazz goes to the School; The Jazz Goes down To The City; Animation of the Brito Cap used by juris doctorate graduates; Nights of the Ribeira; Animation of Beaches of Ovar and Hip-Hop in Matosinhos. Espectáculos private of the Private bank Português and Decultura in Amarante.
Youthful orchestra of the Center, together with the Regional Delegation of Culture of the Center (Ministry of the Culture).
He was part of the commission organizer of 1º National Congress of the Musicians, the first one carried through in Portugal, with the participation of Its Exa. Mr. Presidente of the Republic, Dr. Jorge Sampaio.

Window of the Jazz, for weekly supplement SE7E, of the O Primeiro de Janeiro to the sundays, since July of 2000.
Today, for the Periodical of Matosinhos,since March of 2002. Oporto Blues, weekly program in the New Radio (98.9), to the sundays, between 23h00 and 24h00. Jazz a Preto e Branco, program of Jose Duarte for RTP 2.
