company description

TUULETAR (“Goddess of The Wind” in Finnish Mythology) is a vocal performance group, consisting of four diverse women from Finland. Since 2012 these vibrant musicians have been singing, composing and performing together, creating their unique identity and sound.

Tuuletar takes influences from all around the world, inspired by sounds from American hip hop to South Asian folk, all while keeping their feet strongly rooted in Finnish language and musical heritage.

With their freshly invigorating original music, they are pioneering the genre of Vocal Folk Hop, enchanting audiences globally with their heartfelt, tribal and captivating spirit.

In July 2015 Tuuletar dazzled in their breakout performance in at Austria’s Vokal Total competition, taking home the top honors among European pop vocal groups along with the Audience Favorite award. Their success in Austria lead to their headlining performances at Vienna’s Voice Mania 2015 and the Budapest A Cappella Festival in 2016.

Tuuletar released their debut album “Tules Maas Vedes Taivaal” (On Fire and Earth, In Water and Sky) in June 2016. The album was recorded in the USA with Liquid 5th Productions and was released on a Finnish record label Bafe’s Factory. The album rose right away to the Top 10 in European World Music Charts and to Top 20 in Transglobal World Music Charts. The album has been playlisted in radio shows all around the world.

Over the next year, Tuuletar will have several international tours as well as individual performances throughout the world, including Sweden, Hungary, Germany, and Taiwan. Tuuletar has also recently launched a new children’s show and will be touring that show fall 2016 in Finland.
