The Treacherous Orchestra are a generation of Scottish musicians who have all now established themselves in the major league. They have all been friends for a ridiculously long time and for years talked about putting together a super group but have been too caught up in living the dream to get it together. Well, now they have and its frightening. Their first show at the Isle of Rum festival had the tent jumping to the extent that four encores were demanded. They play big banging tunes with a slap-tight and funky rhythm section and the occasional song from Innes. The players are: Adam Sutherland of the Peatbog Faeries on fiddle, Ross Ainslie of Salsa Celtica and The Dougie Maclean Band on pipes and bazouki, Innes Watson of Croft No. Five on fiddle and guitar, Ali Hutton of Back Of the Moon on pipes and whistle, Kevin O'Neill of The Walkabout Ceilidh Band on flute, Duncan Lyall of Croft No. Five and The Fred Morrison Band on bass, Mike Brian of Dryzabone on guitar, Bo Jingham of Alvie Estate on flute, Martin O'Neill of Dchas on Bodhran, John Somerville of Croft No. Five on Accordian and Paul Jennings of Croft No. Five and The Fred Morrison Band on drums and percussion. With this all-star lineup The Treacherous Orchestra are set to play blinders all across the festival circuit.
