In the concert Sinikka Langeland sings ancient folk hymns about the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene from Norway between works by J.S. Bach played on viola by Lars Anders Tomter and Kare Nordstoga on organ. At times Sinikka Langeland lets her melodies glide into Kantele-variations and small vocal improvisations hovering over Bach's music, for example in Chaconne, which she embellishes delicately with texts from the ancient prayer Ave Maria.
