Laiq Qureshi, an ex-journalist, now a full-time musician, composer, programmer and an electronica artist. He is also a leading consultant to Festivals, Clubs and Corporates creating avenues to think out-of-the-box methods of generating funds, and bringing the right long-term sustainable vision.
In 2009, he co-founded a label called Inroom Records, that looks at collaborative sounds. He works primarily in setting up live-gigging avenues for artists, and an active platform for collaborations to breed, like artists' residencies, live plugging etc. Focusing a lot of Indian Classical and folk artists, he gave India it's first new sound - FOLKTRONICA.
Finding the need to establish a cheaper and more sustainable avenue for creative work, he started Urban Beat Project. It's a production house / agency without the headaches of supporting levels of management, cutting down on overheads significantly. UBP works with a network of over 100 artists which includes Musicians, composers, photographers, designers, story boarding artists, editors, VFX and more. Part of what he does is bringing together the right team to execute audio/video work (Music videos, Album artwork, Promos, TVCs, Jingles, Ads, Corporate films, Posters and more).
