MASHRIQ, (in Arabic, literally east), was created by Husniddin Atoev in 2002 by five students from the Uzbek State Conservatory of Music. Their musical aesthetic is innovative with ingenious arrangements of instrumental timbres. Their repertoire consists of musics from various genres and various regions of Uzbekistan. Bukharian Shashmaqom, Ferhgana-Tashkent maqoms, Khoresm maqoms, a number of national and folk music and songs of Uzbekistan. Mashriq musicians have a good practice for working with East and West musicians, and also with composers in genre of contemporary music. In 2006 Mashriq have released CD album. It was not for sale, it was only for admirers Uzbek Classic Music.
