The Voice, not only of a musical group, but the Voice of an entire people, often silent, and mysterious: the SARDINIANS.
Voice, colour, expression and shape of ancient and new sound; perfect swing between different worlds which meet each other in his voice in a perfect balance and alternate like Sun and Moon in the common space of the day.
Voice, but not only voice
Primitive instrument, percussion and string, after years of identification in unique situation, which brought him to fill the silences of Sardinian people through sounds which seemed to be forgotten; he proposes now, thorough the crowded solitariness of his person, in the sound of the musical scene.
Andrea Parodi, voice and strength of Italian ethnic music, after a long carrer full of successes and prestigious prizes (among them, Tenco, Recanati, the international poem prize Nosside, the first price for ethno-music in Italy Lunezia, and others), the ex-leader of the groups Sole Nero, Coro degli Angeli and Tazenda turned page in his life, and from ethno-rock experiences he decided to devote himself to Mediterranean music, and he launched an entirely acoustic project, Abacada, to continue in research and projects of collaboration between different cultures, through the instrument of Sardinian culture and language.
At the moment he is engaged in writing and realizing new original pieces in Genova language, the language of his childhood, in order to enhance Genova culture in the world.
At the moment he is also engaged in an original project with the great American guitarist AL DI MEOLA (recently the live CD Di Meola-Parodi MIDSUMMER NIGHT IN SARDINIA was released).
He recently collaborated with ACTORES ALIDOS female poliphonic Sardinian group, who will be present in Newcastle showcase on 29th October, 1am.
Andrea Parodi in Italy works with MARILLA SIMONINI BOOKING agency.
He is available to work with promoters and collaborate with agencies out of Italy to organize tours all over the world.
Andrea Parodi is looking for distribution of his CDs ABACADA (2002 release in Italy) and MIDSUMMER NIGHT IN SARDINIA live with AL DI MEOLA (2005 release in Italy) in other countries in the world.
