WOMEX ON WEDNESDAY

The WOMEX marathon officially starts on Wednesday, 27 Oct, at this year's WOMEX venue Zeche Zollverein at 15:00: register if you have not done so before or just pick up your WOMEX Badge and Bag and set up your stand until 19:30.
Please note: the Trade Fair business does not start until THURSDAY morning!
After you checked Zeche Zollverein on Wednesday afternoon, head for the official WOMEX Opening which takes place at the Lichtburg in Essen's City centre at 20:00. The Aga Khan Music Initiative in Central Asia (AKMICA) presents 'Via Kaboul. Music and Voices of Central Asia', feat. Bardic Divas
of Central Asia, Tengir Too: Mountain Music from Kyrgyzstan, Sanam Uyghur
Ensemble: Uyghur classical tradition, Music of Afghanistan, Songs and Music
of Badakhshan, Academy of Shashmaqam: Classical Music of the Uzbeks and Tajiks, with multimedia scenography by Michel Jaffrenou.
