Afenginn wins Danish World Awards!

Danish World Awards 2005 were held on friday 11th of november at
Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Copenhagen, Denmark. The award for
'Best World Album' went to the energetic 'bastard-etno' band Afenginn
for their debut album 'Retrograd'.

Afenginn plays a unique combination of balkan, nordic music, klezmer
and classical with a biting touch of Finnish punk edge! Formed in 2002
Afenginn has so far performed approx. 150 concerts all over the
nordic region, as well as in Germany, Belgiu, and Switzerland.

'Retrograd' was released on Tutl and the album has received glowing reviews
in both Danish and foreign press. The album was ranked amongst the
Top 5 albums of 2005 by German magazine Folkworld.

Afenginn are currently working on their 2nd album which is due to be released
in april of 2006. In november and december Afenginn will tour Sweden, Belgium
& Switzerland.
