Berlin To Beirut

After 3 years of preparation with 3 tours from 2001 to 2003 Oriental Mood went on their final tour with the "Oriental Cut". The final tour started in Denmark. In Berlin they played at the opening of "Prix D'Europe Festival" broadcasted by EBU to more than 17 European nations directly. It was a compliment for Oriental Mood to play at this festival. Every year they choose only one world music band withe base in Europe to open this festival ; which every year gives awards to the best TV program in Europe. The Concert in Berlin was no less than a great succes. Oriental Mood was told that the public normally were very passive at this peticular concert. The 6-700 VIPs were newer the less very exited about the concert !

Organizers from RBB and Radio Multikulti spoke afterwards positive about the broadcasting concert. The outcome of the concert will be a live CD/DVD presented in Dolby 5.1. The release will probably take place in beginning of may 2005.

Oriental Cut Tour startedIn Denmark went to Slagelse, Svendborg, Hillerød and ended before depature to Egypt with a great concert at the Royal Danish Library "The Diamant". Orintal Mood big 15 pieces band started their first concert in the newly reataured old concerthall "Sayeed Darwish". A great old beautiful theater - and a nice and intimate concert.

In Cairo Oriental Mood played at the small hall in the Opera and at the newly opened cultural centre in Zamalek. Both concerts were played with exitement and professionalism. The last concert at Zauie were though the faremost greatest experience. Here the public were many and very exited. Hereafter the tour went to Damascus in Syria. The two concerts in Damascus were played at the Open Air theatre in "Tishreen Garden" - a public park with a lot of happy young syrian students and familys. Especially the last evening the public were realy wild ! They started to get on the stage dancing with great entusiasm. The Danish Institute in Damascus realy made theese evenings perfect.

The last part of the tour went to Beirut. The concert were organised by Zico House which got a reccomandation from Zauie Center in Cairo. Here Oriental Mood played their final concert from the "Oriental Cut Tour" in a very nice great Cinema where the video performer Gregers Kirkegaard finally got his videoperformance in a very nice condition. In Beirut the experience were a little like being back in Europe ; France og South of Spain. Efter all concerts Oriental Mood were asked when they would be back...

This were a worthy end of a great tour ! A project of how to blend different cultures - with respect and devotion. With Johnny Kalsi and his dhol, Karima Nait with her beautiful voice, Zaki.
