The magazine provides insight into the Serbian world music scene through interviews and profiles of members of Serbian bands and reviews of recordings, events, and publications, as well as regular features on Serbian traditional music. Its editor, Marija Vitas, defines it as a periodical for criticism, aesthetics, theory and history of world music, with the aim of promoting and advancing Serbian world music.
Recording company WMAS Records (within the „World Music Association of Serbia”) was established in 2007 in order to publish recordings of traditional and world music from Serbia. WMAS Records editions are published with magazine ‘’Etnoumlje’’ and also separately.
