Dancing at the Feet of Shiva is the first solo CD by the Brazilian violinist and composer Sérgio Ferraz. The CD contains 12 tracks composed by himself and was entirely produced, arranged and performed by Sergio Ferraz, that besides the electric violin he also plays piano and keyboards on the CD. The work also includes the participation of percussionist Jerimum de Olinda in six songs on the CD. This is an instrumental work where the electric violin soloist is exploring different sounds, and dialogue with the percussion.
We found a clear influence of Indian music in the CD's track, so the songs as The Great Vishnu only played with a violin, and the track that opens the CD The Last Battle on Earth, with violin and percussion.
In the Indian-inspired, it is emphasized also in Dancing at the Feet of Shiva, elements of minimalist music and atonal music as the track The Three Transformations of the Spirit.
The live line up, Sérgio Ferraz uses an electric violin, Boss Loop Station Boss RC 50 and ME 70, and still has, Gustavo Ferraz - Electric Bass Guitar, Jerimum Olinda - Percussion
